Sell Products Online / Adding Products to Your Web Site
There are two eCELLAR menu tabs that need attention to accomplish adding product to your web site: Products and Content.
While there are other fields in the Product Detail that may need completion, these are mandatory so product will display on your web site.
PRODUCTS
There are three settings in a product that control if and how the product is available in an online store. To enable a product online, be sure you've reviewed each of these settings:
- The Display on Web must be activated for any online General Store products and any Allocation products
- The URL Slug must be continuous with no breaks, using underscores or dashes.
- The Product Availability must be set for enabled customer types.
Permission Required: To access all product settings, your user account must be enabled with the permission for Products, to access the sub-menu options. Contact your eCellar User Manager for assistance.
Product Settings: General Tab
Products Settings: Web Info
Product Settings: Availability
The product availability controls which customer types have access to view and purchase each product online. Select the customer types that have access to each product online (i.e. General Consumer, Wine Club, etc.). See this article for the details of Availability.
Note: These restrictions are ignored in the POS, and only control online WEB availability.
CONTENT
There are two sub-tabs in DW Site Map: Site Map Review and Site Map Editor.
The Site Map Review provides an overview of how products are displayed on your web site. It includes the categories and subcategories reflected on your web site, as defined by your designer. It also includes icons that indicate what images are present in the product set up by hovering over the photo icon: Header Image, Image 1, and Thumbnail.
- The Site Map Editor is where product is managed for your web site - added and deleted, and sorted. Product can be sorted by simply clicking on the arrows icon and then draging and dropping into the desired order.
Permission Required: To access all product settings, your user account must be enabled with the permission for Content, to access the sub-menu options. Contact your eCellar User Manager for assistance. NOTE: This permission requires IP address protection.
