Multi-Ship Overview and Terminology

The Multi-Ship feature of eCELLAR allows you to create multiple orders with one biller or multiple billers sent to multiple recipients. Multi-Ship offers the user the ability to create customer accounts for each recipient and utilize differing shipment methods within the same Multi-Ship Batch. In addition to the above listed features, Multi-Ship features an easy to fill out upload template.  To access the Multi-Ship settings, your account must be enabled with the Multi-Ship permission. You can learn more about the Multi-Ship workflow in the following article:  Multi-Ship Order Workflow

Multi-Ship Order Terminology

Multi-Ship Template The .xls (Excel) file used to upload the multi-ship batch into eCELLAR. Each individual shipment is listed here. Guidelines can be found on the second tab. Any changes to the Template columns will result in an unsuccessful multi-ship upload.
Bill Customer Number The eCELLAR customer ID of the customer paying for the shipment. Multi-Ship supports multiple payers per batch.
Recipient First, Last Name and Phone The first and last name of the shipment recipient. Phone numbers must be entered as 10 digits with no spaces
Recipient Email Email address for the shipment recipient. This field is optional but if entered requires a valid email format. If a customer account is created (see below), this field is required.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Customer emails should only be added if they have given their express intent and desire to be on your mailing list. Adding customers who later mark your emails as spam effects the eCELLAR whitelist rating, and can affect the ability for recipients to receive email campaigns.
Create Customer Account Yes or No or the only choices. If yes, this will create a customer account within eCELLAR for the recipient. If the recipient's order is shipped, a shipping address is created. No account is created if the recipient's email address is already an eCELLAR username. Note - Multi-Ship orders are tied to the billing account not the recipient.
Recipient Company Name Optional field if the recipient shipping address is a business.
Recipient Address1, Address2, City, State and ZipCode  Required fields (Address2 is optional) for shipped orders. State must be entered as the two letter state code and Zip must be entered as a 5 digit number.
Ship Method Required field when shipping. Please note the method chosen must be a valid method within the Company's Shipping Zones and Methods settings. The list of supported Ship Methods is found on the Template Guidelines.
