Payfields Credit Card Entry
- Released May 13th, 2025.
- Payfields are a more advanced and secure replacement of the previous employed OpenEdge Hosted Payform for online (DW) transactions.
- They allow for the capture of Address Verification Service (AVS) data on newly tokenized credit cards.
- AVS will ONLY return results for cards that were added by the customer via your web site (DW) and then used for an order.
NOTE: AVS results are not returned for cards already on file as of May 13, 2025. This includes:
- Cards tokenized using the previous OpenEdge Hosted Payform
- Cards entered through the POS
- Cards added to the Customer Card manually or through EMV/card reader
- AVS data is searchable within Payment search.
- This feature provides tools to review and manage online transactions.
Web User Experience
Payfields pre-fills the cardholder’s name, billing address, and billing ZIP code, streamlining the online checkout process.
The form will automatically takes on the styling of your website.
Payment Search
AVS search provides a filter for transactions by AVS result codes to review, audit, and validate payment activity.
Order Detail
In the Order Detail view, click on the color-coded AVS response indicator shield icon that displays:
- CVV match result
- AVS response code & description
- Address and ZIP used for the AVS check
- Hovering the mouse over the shield displays the CVV and AVS details.
- Key to shield colors:
- Green: The AVS is fully matched for both address and zip code.
- Orange: AVS is matched for either address or zip code.
- Red: AVS did not match.
- Grey: AVS was not supported or there was an error from Open Edge inhibiting AVS.
- Blank: The Payment was not made with a CC, or if it was a CC payment, the token was not created via Payfields.
