Star Printer Set Up for iPad Printing

Release Note:  On March 21, 2022 integration with Star Printers for LAN/Wi-Fi and Bluetooth printing for iPads and the eCELLAR iOS App was completed as a new feature.  This allows for both receipt and kitchen (food item) printing directly from iPads.

Printing with LAN Wi-Fi

Set Up the Printer:

  1. Plug in the power cord.
  2. Plug the printer into the LAN/Wi-Fi source using an ethernet cable.  
    1. Confirm the LAN icon on the printer is green

Set Up Printing for the iPad

  1. In the eCELLAR iOS App Administrative Control Panel:
    1. POS > Register as Mobile > Click the Test button
    2. Click the Setup Printer button
    3. Answer OK to both "eCellar Mobile" would like to use Bluetooth and  "eCellar Mobile" would lie to find and connect to devices on your locate network
    4. Once the devise has found the printer(s) it will show them as available to assign either receipt or kitchen printing
    5. In most cases, choose Assign Receipts > Confirm
    6. A test will print automatically
    7. Open the POS > resent orders - print a receipt to confirm set up

NOTE: If the order receipt does not print as expected, perform the following -

  1. POS > Register as Mobile > click the Test button
  2. Click the hyperlink for the Mobile Terminal Name currently being used if there is more than one
  3. Click OK fro Re-Register Mobile Devise

NOTE: Assign Receipts prints order receipt. Assign Kitchen will print product assigned to the Product Category of FOOD only.  

Printing with Bluetooth 

Set Up the Printer:

  1. Turn on the devise and ensure the it is discoverable.

Set Up Printing for the iPad

  1. In the eCELLAR iOS App Administrative Control Panel:
    1. POS > Register as Mobile > Click the Test button
    2. Click the Setup Printer button
    3. Answer OK to both "eCellar Mobile" would like to use Bluetooth and  "eCellar Mobile" would lie to find and connect to devices on your locate network
    4. Once the devise has found the printer(s) it will show them as available to assign either receipt or kitchen printing
    5. Click Assign Receipts or Assign Kitchen, as desired > Confirm
    6. A test will print automatically
    7. Open the POS > resent orders - print a receipt to confirm set up

Note: If the order receipt (not the test) does not print as expected see the above note in red.

Note: 

  • One printer can be assigned both Receipt AND Kitchen.
  • Assign Receipts prints order receipt. Assign Kitchen will print product assigned to the Product Category of FOOD only.
