Stripe Hardware Guide
Whether you’re replacing existing payment terminals or setting up a new tasting room, Stripe offers modern, secure payment hardware designed to work seamlessly with eCELLAR.
This guide will help you understand your options and determine which payment device is the best fit for your winery.
Do I Need New Hardware?
Yes. You’ll need at least one Stripe compatible payment device, even if you don’t have a physical POS station. Unlike OpenEdge, Stripe requires access to a payment device when processing transactions involving a new credit card. This includes MOTO transactions, such as mail order and telephone orders where card information is entered manually. Depending on how and where your team processes payments, you may need multiple devices.

Existing tokenized payment methods that have been successfully migrated to Stripe can continue to be used for future transactions.
